This year the Kokoda Challenge Association is excited to announce a school component being introduced for the Kokoda Challenge Melbourne. This new exciting school event is a great way for students and schools to get involved. This event is going to be called the Junior Kokoda Challenge Melbourne. For more information click here!


  • Registration costs $70 per person (which is non-refundable)

  • Compulsory Fundraising Contribution - (all fundraising is fully tax deductible)
  • 2 Person Team - $200.00
  • 3 Person Team - $300.00
  • 4 Person Team - $400.00
  • The Kokoda Challenge Melbourne is a team event, you must enter a team of: 2, 3 or 4

  • There are 3 Checkpoints along the 30km course. There is no spectator or Support Crew access at these points. Participants should carry any food, water or supplies they need

  • The course starts at Ferntree Gully Picnic Ground and winds in an upwards loop to the summit at Kalorama Park at the top of Mount Dandenong.  From there, participants will follow a similar course on their return to the finish line at Ferntree Gully Picnic Ground

  • The Kokoda Challenge Melbourne will commence at 7am and has a 9 hour time limit

  • Make sure you complete the Waiver Form which can be located under the competitors area.

  • Melbourne is the home of the 39th Australian Infantry Battalion Association. The 39th Militia were the first Australian Troops to set foot on the Kokoda Track and the Veterans will be present on the day to cheer you on

  • Fun fundraising - there are lots of great ways to raise money for the Melbourne branch of the Kokoda Challenge Youth Program
